The Applied Vision and Artificial Intelligence Lab (AVAIL) is an interdisciplinary research group based within the School of Engineering & Physical Sciences at the University of Lincoln. We bring together expertise in machine learning, computer vision, and applied AI to tackle real-world challenges across health, sustainability, and energy. Our mission is to accelerate scientific discovery and improve human wellbeing through AI — combining advanced computational techniques with applied research that makes a tangible impact.
We work closely with academic, clinical, and industry partners on topics including:
